Unlike the cure model, the care model does not have a straight forward answer in helping the patient, the cure model you have the option to give someone medication or not to give them medication, while care you have multiple steps taken to help someone. Patients may also be more difficult because they will not be seeing results right away and they may trust their care giver less. For the care giver it is also harder for them to measure their patients’ health improvements; they must factor in the patients comfort, satisfaction, coping level and levels of wellness, which can affect someone’s ability to improve one’s health or well-being (Who Cares? This article also talks more about how the patient should have a say in their own treatment. While the articles both focus on different aspects of the care and cure models, the goal of each article is to treat the patient with the best care possible.
