The capability community gatherings have is incredible because it brings a well diverse group of people together to become one. However, the media presents the community as being segregated because of gang rivalry, for example, the Bloods and Crips. Despite what the media says, the neighbourhood stays as a united front to shut down rumors. One of the greatest ways the Jane and Finch area has been able to make this possible are the barbeques they have. Usually, the barbeques are held for the enjoyment of the children and teens and also, so that neighbours can get to know each other and become friends. There are occasions that these barbeques turn into fundraisers. The money goes to fund the community centre or to help a family in desperate need
