When living in a small town, everybody knows each other. While this may be bad in some aspects, this is a good thing when it comes to banking. However, in a local bank these officers are often on site as opposed to working in a completely different office building in a city 2,000 miles away. Furthermore, not only do the owners and employees of local banks live in the area, but many of them are active members in our society. They serve on school board and are members of organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. The people who make the big decisions truly have our best interest in mind because the live with and care about their customers. This philosophy however doesn't only apply to the officers. All of the employees work to help in whatever way they can. When I first opened a checking account at CSB an employee sat down and thoroughly explained everything I needed to know and made sure I didn't have any questions before I left. In addition, although it is a small local bank, Community State bank has another location in Troy which is convenient for customers who may work in a different city than the one they live
