Early 1900 Communication

Communication is a very important part of the human life. Without communication, the human body would be a sad, lonely group of people. Ways of communicating have changed drastically over time and will continue to advance as time progresses. For example, up until about the early 1900’s, the most common form of communication, besides meeting face-to-face, was through letter. Though this process was not a speedy one, it was the most popular way for those split apart to keep in touch. Then, advancing further into the 1900’s, the telephone was beginning to become a widespread form of communication. Regardless if one is typing out a quick text message or perching in a chair writing a lengthy letter, both take time out of that person’s day. Nonetheless, it takes a brief amount of time to complete a text message. Many teenagers are especially experts at this, for they can write three paragraphs and hit the “send” button in the matter of five seconds. While this might seem like a great concept, it is easy to put little effort into something that takes such a short quantity of time to accomplish. Letters, on the contrary, take much more time to complete. In order to write a decent letter, one needs to acquire paper, a writing utensil, and a hard surface to put the paper on top of. This means that before a letter is even started, time is required in order to gather the right materials. After the letter is written, time is also needed to buy a stamp and to deliver the letter to the right mailing location. Because there is such thing as texting and social media, there are numerous ways to keep in touch with those who are far away. Even though taking the technological way of communicating is the easier and faster option, does not mean that the art of letter writing is forever forgotten. Because the practice of writing letters has been around for such a long period of time, means that the practice will probably be around for much longer as well, even if not everybody is participating. There are still numerous amounts of people around all over the globe that continue to write letters even though there are other sources of communication. Writing letters will always be the more heartfelt and sentimental option over text
