Common Squirrel Monkeys In The Amazon Basin

Common Squirrel Monkeys live in warm temperatures and areas covered by trees. Most live in the Amazon Basin which are territories in the countries of Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Gayana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. They have been seen in Florida too. Common Squirrel Monkeys spend their time in the trees looking for food. You can find them in areas like rainforests and marshlands. They live in groups , called troops, that have both females and males. Most of the time these troops have 25-35 members but sometimes can be as big as 500 members.
