Expanding on educational state guidelines, the Common Core Curriculum gives clear and predictable learning objectives to prepare students for school, their profession, and life. The measures obviously exhibit what students are relied upon to learn at every grade level from kindergarten to 12th grade, so that each guardian and educator can comprehend and reinforce their learning. The guidelines concentrate on central ideas and techniques beginning in the early stages of education, which gives educators the time expected to show them the material and gives students the time expected to ace the work given to them.

When assessing the students the Common Core Curriculum focuses on students demonstrate their abilities to write, speak, read and conduct research using text, graphs, different forms of data, primary sources, secondary sources, films and artwork etc. With that being said students are taught to cite their information they intend to use.
Teaching grades 9-12 can be a challenge especially when teaching Social Studies. Social Studies can be “boring” for most students due to the fact they, as students have to recollect information from the past. With the Common Core Curriculum in place there is flexibility in how teacher can incorporate past and present events at the same time as long as we follow the standards. Using the Common Core Curriculum and the NY State Content Standards for Social Studies two topics I am going to analyze is The March on Washington and The Scramble of

At the end of the lesson the class will play History Feud to test their knowledge of this subject (class will be broken up into groups). Students will adapt to unfamiliar words they come across in this topic.
Also, students will adapt to learning about key members during this period in history. At the end of the topic students will be evaluated on their knowledge of this subject through writing a short passage, test or group project depending on course material I am able to provide them with and their independent research. Students whose learning style differs from others whether its is visual, aural, physical, social and/or solitary have the opportunity to grasp the material because I plan to give textual information in different forms (power point lesson, visuals, movies, speeches, data, graphs and
