SUMMARY OF: TWO SIDES OF COLORADO, AMPLIFIED THROUGH CONSTITUTIONAL REDISGN This is a great fast past interpretation of the Colorado Constitution. This chapter in the book “The Constitutionalism of America States,” is a good representation of how and why the Colorado constitution was formed. Dr. Vicki Bollenbacher, the author of this chapter “two Sides of Colorado, Amplified through Constitutional Redesign,” goes into some detail about the history as well as the ins and outs of the Colorado Constitution. The weather can change drastically form one year to the next making it hard for the public to feel or notice the long-term climate changes. I also have a better sense of the reality of the climate changes that are in fact occurring. Our area has suffered with ongoing drought for many years now and warming winters or longer summers may provide some explanation for this. Climate change is not just a global issue but a local one that we all could be more aware of and do our part in mitigating future…

During the first half of the twentieth century, the Colorado mountains became home to a handful of women who had fled the trappings of their former societies in hopes of refuge and adventure. One such woman was Virginia Donaghe McClurg, who became the first white woman to visit Mesa Verde and in later years would become immensely involved in the Colorado Cliff Dwellings Association, which fought to make the site a national park. Also an active member of this committee was Lucy Peabody, who, after a number of disputes with McClurg, became known as the “Mother of Mesa Verde National Park” due to the approval of her proposed Hogg Bill. For Susan Anderson, the Colorado mountains allowed her the opportunity to be taken seriously as a female physician…
