For example, reflecting upon my adaption to routines concerning past trade schools, grade school and even kindergarten there were always required scheduled school days. All were primarily fixed and structured based on a portion of time during the day that remains the same. A college schedule has not always offered this sort of convenience or familiarity and may have gaps of time which must be used effectively. This can be an area which I believe I have under control where really I don’t and am not always capable of choosing the best priorities. When growing up, it was easy to place blame on my parents, teachers, or siblings in order to psychologically make myself feel better about my own mistakes. Normally, both failure and success should be attributed to each person individually. In college, personal responsibility requires a sense of urgency; no one will be there to make sure I make it to my classes. The professor is under no obligation to continue to remind me or inform me of information which has already been presented. Professors’ expect everyone to pay strict attention to the syllabus deadlines and turn in each paper on time.
