For myself, this means rubbing my eyes until it looks like I’ve just watched a heartbreaking romantic comedy, sneezing so powerfully that it physically hurts, and itching my nose and giving myself a lovely (insert sarcasm here) horizontal crease. But even though I sneeze loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood, I still find beauty in seasonal allergies.
It is amazing to me how the body works, both in the case where the white blood cells ignore and when they attack foreign substances. Those microscopic cells are brilliant, and I cannot wrap my mind around how they have the ability to protect us from so many potential harmful materials. The human body is an amazing creation and it blows my mind how complicated and precise it is. There are so many aspects to human life that we have yet to understand, and that makes me long to learn everything I can.
Seasonal allergies also remind me how lovely the world is. I could be completely concerned with myself and my symptoms, however I choose to focus my attention on the magnificent new growth happening all around. If it weren’t for my allergies, it would be much easier to only partially take in the beauty of new plant sprouts and the vibrant colors of the flowers. But with allergies, I can fully appreciate the world around me and be intrigued to learn more about the world and about
