Well, if it wasn’t for my younger brother Alex, I would more than likely be in a very dark place in my life. When my brother was only two years of age a school bus ran him over. The impact of the school bus running over a portion of his body almost killed him right in front of me. As a child I can remember making lists of what I wanted to be or accomplish when I grew up. Then, the list probably consisted various items including becoming a pop star, owning 30 dogs and eating ice cream for breakfast. Now as a senior in High School, my list of goals has drastically changed and helped to guide me through the college process. Quickly, I realized that my goals parallel many of the Jesuit values that Georgetown University exemplifies. It was after two service trips to West Virginia, tutoring underprivileged children once a week, and being part of my school’s Community Service Corp’s that I realized just how integral a part of service is to who I am.…

When I first set my to go back to school, I told myself, it makes no sense going back to school if you’re not going to give 100% into everything that you do once you step foot on the campus that you choose to involve yourself with. To me it makes no sense accepting a position or a role that people depend greatly on your ability if you yourself don’t plan to 1) give them your all 2) enter that position with a pure heart and mind, with no ulterior motive, and 3) being able to take that position and grow from it. Every job I have accepted or every role I have committed myself to on this campus I always strive to complete these three goals. When you come from a country where no one expects much from you, it’s bound to produce a few citizens who…
