I would have given answers like “I’m defined by my uniqueness, and my ability to observe others” and “I think that the world around me is in a difficult state”. However, even after the short amount of time being in this new environment, I am able to recognize that my perspectives on life and about life have changed drastically. I now would like to believe that who I am currently and who I will be in the future will continue based on the knowledge that I am learning presently. Thus, I ask myself why have I changed so, what is it that I have realized about myself, and how do I see myself being, now that I know the little more that I do, in my …show more content…

Realizing who I was has made me become a louder, confident speaker because before a lot of my peers (even teachers) would call me quiet. They have even admitted to my face that if I were an animal I would be a small, squeaky mouse. This identity that was made-up by my high school peers frustrated me, but it never really pushed me to change. Nonetheless I believe finding my individuality is what helped me in my decision in going to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I wanted to show my friends the real me, and for them to be surprised at what a loud, energetic person I can be so they can destroy the fake image they had of me in high school.…

“Different”, am I different because I am an African-American? Or because we don’t have the same skin color? Or what if it’s because you pursue me as a “bastard child”? Growing up, I had a sense of everyone was the equal, and that we had the same sense care and compassion. It never crossed my mind as to why I would get certain looks or see people holding the belonging close to them as they see me walk past.…

I have learned about others’ experiences and how those experiences have changed them to become better and to think about different topics throughout the world. I have learned to be open-minded to what is happening now but also being open-minded to all opportunities. Through some of my experiences on campus, I have become more open-minded through discussing current events and have learned to develop my pre-conceived notions of a certain individual judging them based on their actions rather than what they appear to be. As someone who is an introvert, being isolated isn’t a big deal but at my time in college, I have become increasingly comfortable with doing things by myself and traveling places…

This essay is the hardest one that I never have, because I have to write about myself . Maybe because I don 't know what I want to say, I am not sure where to start, or I 'm nervous of what I have to say will come across as bragging or worse boring. It usually hard to see perspectives and/or details about oneself because they are subjective, but then there are some people who can. It especially difficult if you have a very humble character or have a low self esteem and think that there is nothing special about yourself. However, in this essay I asked multiple people for inspiration until I got enough to come up with the bare minimum.…
