College Admissions Essay: I Want To Attend College

Money has always been something that my family has had to worry about. As it is my senior year, my parents have begun to worry about how we are going to pay for college. We’ve never had enough money each month to regularly put some into a college trust fund so we don’t have a buffer for when the expenses start rolling in. My father is the only one that works and of course, I plan to work as well but without extra support, I know it won’t be enough.

The main reason I want to attend college is because of my parents. They have given me unconditional love and support and I want to give back to them. Currently, we are living in an apartment so one of my biggest goals is to buy my parents a house. They have always wanted a place of their own so I want to help realize that dream for them. I’m not yet certain what career I want to pursue, i’ve considered editing or publishing but nothing is set in stone. In the case of the former, tutoring makes me feel more confident in my abilities before I take a test, this in turn, usually makes me perform better. When I don’t do very well on a test, I go to tutoring, not only to get some points back from test corrections, but also to make sure that I understood what my mistakes were and so that I know how to fix them. I’ve only gone to tutoring for math and science since they aren’t my strong suits. Other than traditional tutoring, I do peer tutoring groups twice a week for AVID and on occasion, i’ve stayed after school or come early to get help directly from a teacher. I would say that my grades do accurately reflect my high school and college academic ability and potential, they are something i’m very proud of and that I put a lot of effort into
