In the 2nd grade while going over the topic of dinosaurs left me completely stunned. The fact that archeologist were able to dig up and put the dinosaurs back together left me in awe. This inspired me to draft out my own dinosaur. I started making drafts of bones measuring, I ended up with a 4foot tall T-rex. My interest in engineering grew extravagantly. In middle school I joined mathematics engineering science achievement also known as MESA. In MESA I was involved in many projects from, making a mousetrap car to attempting to make a prosthetic arm. Boarding school was liberating, so much so that I focused almost solely on my computer science passion to the detriment of other subjects. I founded the Programming Club to teach peers to code well beyond the two school computer science (CS) classes offered, resulting in furthering my coding knowledge to prepare for growing classes. Naively, I plotted ideas to become the "next big thing". Needless-to-say my report cards showed one cannot be a genius without studying.…

This is his passion, one which was instilled in him by his father, whose life motto was that if you see something wrong, you’re obligated to try and fix it. His father is dead; he succumbed to a heart attack after saving his neighbor’s children from a house fire. Mr. Stephens told us this story to show how his father was committed to his belief and to show how he was committed to his own.…
