In regards to Chyna Little’s Grendel art project, titled “Beauty and the Beast”, my initial impression was that the booklet was well put together and very creative. I found the project to show the main purpose of the book quite well and found it to be very interesting. My initial impression of the conversation with Chyna was also well-understood and worth while. As Chyna and I conversed, she showed a great deal of interest in showing me each and every detail of the book and gave me a good reasoning for why she chose each section. Chyna was also patient with all my questions and had logical answers for each one, along with giving me her own honest opinion on her booklet with the effort placed into it and the weaknesses she felt should be explained.…

Peaceful Place Collage This collage-making process was new to me but very fun to do. I really liked how you could layer as many pieces of paper as you want and make so many pieces look seamless enough to look like one piece of paper. For this Peaceful Place collage, I used cardstock paper, fabric material, magazine paper, marble paper, and wood paper to get a variety of textures and colors. I used a layering technique by layering pieces of paper, making them blend together as if they were paint.…

It acts as a small account of my identity and, in a way, immortalizes what makes me “me.” Each object that I placed in my collage and the way I placed it means and stands for something that contributes to who I am as a person. I wouldn’t admit this to anyone else, but a month into summer and anything that sounded fun was not something that I could find in the small town of Orange City, Iowa. Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…
