1) Summary of the article

This article is about Infants viewing Television, and what things we can learn about it and know its effects. According to the article 90% of kids watch Television averagely before they age of two years old. This article is supposed to inform us the effects on a child’s development including cognition and language. They did a study with one thousand kids that are under the age of two years’ old did not have any benefits of viewing Television and the baby’s that were seven to sixteen months old had very poor language skills than the others. The article then goes on to tell us the cognitive effects of Television of infants during development. Language for infants can be effected by watching Television but in general Television may effect cognitive development more greatly. Depending on the program the children watch can even affect children in a good way. For Example, in older children such as 3 to 5 years old they show that is better studied is a show called sesame street which has had some benefits that are proven for them for cognitive and language development. There is some concern that Television might be one of the reasons why children develop ADHD. Television for children that have fast, and intense scenes for children. Russel usually keeps his self-busy by watching the same DVD over and over again and for Russel he does not lose interest in it. Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics made a policy that kids that watch TV under the age of 2 years old was due to the documented negative effects that watching TV can have on physical health, attention span, and language delays. From this article it said that children that watched Television that were under the age of two years old had no benefits from watching Television for the cognitive and language
