If I was receiving therapy, I would probably choose the cognitive therapy approach because it could teach me how to efficiently control my anxiety, pause worrisome thoughts, and conquer my fear of failing since I clearly do not how to do it by myself. I believe that the cognitive behavioral therapy concentrates on negative patterns and misinterpretations in the way we look at the world and ourselves. The basic principle of cognitive behavioral therapy is that our thoughts, not external events, affect the way we feel. In other words, it’s not the situation we are in that governs how we feel, but our assessment of the situation.
