Cognitive behavior therapy is appropriate to use with this case because it will help her with her depression and anxiety. CBT provides the right tools and support to engage the powerful process of change without having a long term therapy. CBT will help the client with solve problems and experience positive outcomes. According to Murdock (2013) states “Simply put, the cognitive model, which is the foundation of CT, proposes that our emotions and behavior are the product of our perceptions of situations. The way you think affects the way you feel.” (pg.,319) Therefore, CBT will change patterns of thinking and behaviors that keep the client overcome her obstacles. The way the client thinks and feeling influence the client’s life because the client might think he/she is not good and that’s why the client is feeling depressed and anxiety.
