Disability is a barrier to participation in children’s sport due to organisational constrains that occur in sport. Various NGB’s came up with possible actions that could be used to increase sports participation when they noticed issues such as disability were causing barriers to participation. An example of an NGB that came up with action to include everyone would be the FA – England’s football NGB. The Football Association has worked to improve and build on the original Coaching Disabled Footballers Course (published in 2000) to ensure that the current course format reflects the changing needs of players and coaches (Association, 2015) the FA gives the chance to become a coach for the disabled teams, work in the leagues and generally get involved in whatever way possible. In terms of anyone who has a disability, there are leagues you can enter and more than 700 affiliated teams to join (Association, 2015). UK sports and other organisations were supporting the development of the UKCC in different sports to create a standard of coaching in UK. By creating UKCC, any organisation such as schools and clubs that want to hire a coach can be assured that coaching will be of high quality due to the certificates etc. although the coaching profession has been developed to a level 2 award, the question remains if it is still enough to deliver a good standard physical education

According to The Government of Western Australia (n.d., p. 4) the department is determined to reduce the barriers for people with disability and ensure schools are prepared by offering an inclusive education to all students with many outcomes being implemented. By applying these outcomes, students are having access to an equal opportunity. Students with a disability have the right as any other student, allowing them to attend a local school with children their own age while having access to high-quality education with the support they are entitled to (Government of Western Australia, n.d. para. 1). With the correct support provided students with a disability have the best chances to be successful learners. The government helps support schools by visiting and supporting the teacher when necessary, offering special classes and centres where required, however, this depends on the needs of the students (The Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth, [ARACY] 2013, p. 26).…

Throughout many years of history, those with disabilities were not always treated fairly or given equal opportunity. Activists around the world have worked together to achieve goals such as increased access to all types of transportation and a safer day to day environment. Equal opportunities in employment and education have been a big part of their efforts too. For many years, children with disabilities were many times segregated and not given an equal opportunity for a chance to learn and succeed in school. Introduction Special education has made significant changes over the past years, partly due to the fact that people have stood up and made a change for the better toward children with disabilities. Children are no longer put into segregated hospitals and left to die and forgotten about. Children for many years were labeled as unlovable and a disgrace and hid away from society. Parents were faced with humiliation and public scorning for having a child with a disability and lived in fear. People are now more widely educated and have advanced over the past century to include children with disabilities as part of society and not simply a disgrace to be swept under the rug.…

The article, “Practice Doesn’t Make Perfect” by Maria Konnikova, believes and argues the opposite of what most people accept to be true, that practicing something can only get someone so far and that practice alone can never make someone perfect. Maria reported on her interview with a psychology teacher named Zach Hambrick who said he spent at least a thousand hours of practicing golf as a young adult hoping to make it to the PGA, but instead found himself not making the cut for his college golf team. Maria proposes that there are many other factors that play a role in helping someone become extremely talented, or even a professional, in various activities and hobbies in life other than just purely practice. Contrary to popular belief, Maria,…

During this final coaching session, my client and I will be working together to close the coaching sessions and then determine the next phase of our relationship Pre-Coaching Plan…
