In addition, learning through cultural diversity will be enhanced by designing new curriculum, instruction and assessment to increase student achievement. Enhancing the development of new teachers through coaching programs is also another way to support positive social change in my educational setting. The success or failure of a coaching program hinges on the coach’s ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, and support fellow teachers (Knight, 2008). I believe all the actual and future learning in this course may help me support positive social change in my community by establishing communications with parents, address new issues that are affecting student learning, and explain the purpose of the visit. According to Doctor (2014), educator must let the community know the purpose of engaging the community and must have clarity about its own purpose, goals and reasons to make the positive social change. I am also planning to implement all the strategies acquired in this course when discussing issues with the community. For instance, I learned about been respectful to other individuals, listen to their opinions and implement reciprocity. To engage a community for a change, the educator must listen carefully to all opinions, be ready to address their questions in a positive way and invite them to participate and feel they have a place at the table (Doctor, L, 2014). Taking these classes transformed me into an educator that wants to make a positive social change applying what I have learned in research, mentoring, coaching, and collaborating with colleagues. I am also planning to create a positive social change in the community and seek new ways to improve the education of all students because my job is to find different paths
