Coach Mac Research Paper

Almost everyone in a position of leadership had someone they looked up to while finding out who they were as a leader. In my case, I have always looked up to my old football and wrestling coach. I interviewed him for this paper and asked him a couple questions about his leadership style and how he became a leader. I have always respected Coach Mac ever since I was a freshman on varsity. The thing he praises most as a leader is accountability, and just learning what went wrong or right in the situation, and learn from it. I really admire him for this and have taken this into my leadership growth. I think holding people accountable for their actions is what leaders need to do. If a person does well you let them know but also on the flip side, if someone makes a mistake you need to let them of that. Mistakes are something every single person has dealt with, but the great ones are ones who learn from these mistakes. Being a leader comes with a lot of responsibilities, and one of those responsibilities is making decisions. Being a person in a leadership role, I have felt some feelings I never want to forget, while on the other hand there are some feelings I wish I could forget. One thing that has really stuck with me after reviewing what my leadership style is that I have a genuine feeling for people and want to help people. I will not be one of those leaders who just bosses people around because they can. I want to be a leader that years after I am gone, people will still talk about how I cared for people and want the best for them. This class really helped me find myself, and I don’t think I would have found this out for a long time if it weren’t for this class. I am going to continue to develop my leadership skills and grow into a better person than I was the previous
