Who is your hero and what makes them your hero? In my childhood, Michael Jackson and Selena Quintanilla are my heroes growing up and now by not letting what people said about them get to them. Both of them are very different by their style and personality, but at the same time, they are almost the same person; they both thought in their minds that they can be more than they are meant to be. Through these actions of Michael Jackson and Selena Quintanilla, they changed the music industry, opened doors for people, and changed history. Michael Jackson changed the music industry drastically for being a man of color.…

I think Cam Newton is a hero, but also a role model to me. People have many different ideas on what makes a hero, but mine personally is if you have done an action that helps or inspires that specific person. What you consider a hero is opinionated, I may think Cam Newton is a hero, you may not. That means they have done something that inspires that one person or many people that share the same opinion. Cam Newton is a hero to me because of how much fun he has with his job.…

Everyone has a hero, either it's their mom, dad, family member, or whoever it maybe. A hero to me is someone who drives you to do better and that can be anyone. Beowulf was the anglo- saxon’s hero because he was believed to be the man and the most powerful during his reign, my hero isn’t even a powerful fighter but he as strong and considered a king and that is Lebron James. To me he is a leader, very reliable, and will be unforgettable, and Beowulf and Lebron has a lot of similar traits During the Anglo-saxon period Beowulf was the king of the Geats. “I shall fulfill that purpose, prove myself with a proud deed or meet my death here in the mead-hall."…

Who is a hero for you? Many people answer that from superheroes to a war hero because people have different views on heroes. However, heroes are for me people who think of others first before they think of themselves. The best example of heroes is Terry Fox who was a Canadian and marathoner. Even though Terry Fox had his right leg amputated at the knee because of cancer, he tried to run across Canada to raise money for people with cancer, so many Canadian admire him.…

The person I chose as my unsung hero is Chaplain Father Emil Kapaun, because he gave his life serving the soldiers in the Korean War and even while being held prisoner he continued serving the soldiers and encouraging them in captivity. He qualifies as an unsung hero because he always put his life at risk to help others that were wounded, to retrieve them, to give them their last rites, not minding the fact that he could be shot dead at any time. He also risked his life many times in prisoner war camp to help his friends who were hungry, sick, or needed spiritual needs while suffering in this prison. Until he himself was ill and could no longer walk. Father Emil Kapaun was a selfless person who dedicated his life to his soldiers.…

“In a word, I was too cowardly to do what I knew to be right, as I had been too cowardly to avoid doing what I knew to be wrong.” ― Charles Dickens Recently, Chelsea Manning, the former Army sergeant heroic and whistleblower, was released from the confines of her military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Chelsea is free, not because Barrack Obama is a swell and compassionate guy or because the U.S. military is interested in justice -- Chelsea is free because of the thousands of organizers and activists who dedicated the last four years of their lives to the cause. Turns out, even minor victories require dedication and hard work.…
