There is so much violence today. A lot of it comes from an angry heart. A heart filled with bitterness, envy, and malice that fuels and burns from an angry spirit.
Our devotional today seems like it is a very simple solution to a problematic society that projects its anger toward all and has taken several innocent lives to the grave. There are a lot of angry people in this world.
I believe this passage of scripture calls for a change of heart that comes by way of a changed nature and is performed by the Holy Spirit. When I returned from Vietnam, my heart was filled with so much anger, and my ex-wife would ask me, why was I so angry? We haven’t done anything to you.

Taking my inventory throughout the day and talking with the Lord helps me to be able to respond to others with a soft answer and not speak harsh words that only stir up anger. Being nice seems to come so easy to people, but for, me I have to work at it.
I thank God that He delivered me from that heart of stone. I could have been one of those people whose anger was so out of control they took innocent lives and maimed others. God has been so good to me. He has brought me a mighty, mighty long way and all to Him I owe. The person I am today, I love and others have told me the same.
