Classical Music Vs Modern Music Essay

The Romantic Era started and ended from 1820-1900. An overview would be the transition from classical to Romantic, of Beethoven, who broke the boundary rules and attached everything together between the two. Because it was Beethoven, he made it okay and possible to have changes and still acceptable. This talented and strong/brave individual changed music for the better and did what he felt and wanted, with his unique personality came his unique composed music. After Beethoven music changed to become more expressive and deep with emotions and that's all inspired from Beethoven breaking the rules of music. However, every era acts like a mirror and reflects through the period and changes according to the century it was in. This Modern Era had new ways of organizing and expanded on the old idea of harmonic, melodic, sonic, and rhythmic aspects of music to be more modern. During the Modern/Contemporary period the twelve-note composition, method of musical composition by Schoenberg came into play as a technique where the twelve notes were given somewhat equal importance. And this technique even moved onto the 20th century composers that would put it in use. Modern music is a gather and mixture of growth through history to become what music has developed into. New style had been discovered, such as Impressionism and Post-romanticism. Neoclassicism, which is a style that came out from the two world wars, also took a place in this era. Stravinsky is the first great modern composers at that time. He also worked with many other composers, such as Diaghilev, Nijinsky and even Picasso, in order to create much great music
