This ranges from the the themes that can range from mystery, nature vs technology and other themes like that. Moreover, the movie demonstrates great cinematography. While the movie has no dialogue in it. There is however a message that is being portrayed in this movie. This movie being abstract, of course has different meanings that can vary from person to person. Furthermore, there truly may not be a “true” meaning to this movie. Nevertheless, this still gives many people the opportunity to share their thoughts and what the movie is saying, how its conveying that message, and why the message needs to be addressed. There are many themes that can be caught when watching this movie. The very first theme that I was able to catch right away when watching this was the theme “light vs darkness”. In the very first seconds of this movie, there are many shots of landscapes. Furthermore, when looking at those landscapes it is showing the sunlight continue to go over the darkness and adding more light to the landscape. This is very intriguing because later on in the movie we go back to these same landscapes and it shows the darkness go over the light. This theme is very subtle like the movie itself, however, what makes this so …show more content…
The shots in the movie would show that there are monuments, such as the rock formation displayed in the first minutes of the film. These places also range from pyramids in egypt to modern civilizations we live in now. It's almost as if the filmmaker was saying even though we are wrapped up in the continuous living that we are subjected too, we should look at our surroundings and take a minute to breath. Go back and learn the history of other lands or the land that you live in yourself. The filmmaker could also be teaching the audience about these areas as well, and the history behind

“A world of Asia, the book was called in his mind the title coincided with the landscape of the movie, dark jungle and greenish mounds of mountains shaped like large reptiles backs at the edges of murky waters (Pg.134 Strom)”. This quote reflects the character falling into the making of stereotypical inferences and connections to a geographic area with which the character has a muddled history. There are many aspects to Asia than the forests of Vietnam. The frame of reference reflects how individualized and narrow sometimes a person’s view can be of a particular place with which they have an emotional history with. In this same paragraph there is a discussion of movies which reflects the psychic consequences of cultural displacement because movies reflect one perspective of a history and that perspective is usually highly dramatized and eccentric.…

Although the novel “Slaughterhouse-Five” by Kurt Vonnegut is an anti-war book, I believe time was more importantly presented within the book rather than warfare. It is easy to feel this way seeing as that the theme dominates every chapter of this “jumbled” book. Vonnegut develops this theme throughout the book by telling events throughout Billy Pilgrim’s life. Let's just say, for a mild mannered, scrawny man, he's able to get around. Events in the novel aren't presented directly, but instead different times of Billy’s experiences during his life are shown at different times.…

Life goes on despite the extent of the change, just as the train represents time moving non stop past the tree, that represents life in the movie. The film Powaqqatsi by Godfrey Reggio, displays great change over time to the new industry that erodes the traditional ways of several countries. Transitioning from a slow motion opening scene to a rapid ending pace, the film uses facial expressions and grim tasks to exemplify the struggle the change brought upon the people. An Evaluation of “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” The film “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” written by Ambrose Bierce and then directed by Robert Enrico is a French masterpiece of a psychological thriller that contains a fair amount of drama, mystery, and tragedy. It was a successful film and with numerous shifts of emotions, this film is an example of one with great storytelling, acting, and cinematography to mold it into a successful short film. To begin with, the most generic yet still very important piece to this film is the storytelling with the interesting plot and structure. In order to get a good understanding of the film, it is a good idea to divide it into three sections.…

and George Weiss symbolically connected the colors of nature to the colors of mankind. This powerful theme of the song worked to send a message of acceptance for all races despite their skin colors, and I personally take that message to the heart. There’s an optimistic tone to the song with lines like “I see babies crying, I watch them grow”, this gives off a sense of serenity and hopeful view of the future. This is also why I chose this particular piece, the songwriters’ and I share the same sentiment of opposing pessimism and proclaiming a brighter tomorrow.…

The film Children of Men, directed by Alfonso Cuaròn, is centered around the idea of the infertility of mankind in the year 2027. With the help of his cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the pair has developed a paranoid, yet occasionally hopeful story that displays future conflicts associated with gender, immigration, terrorism, and technology. In an attempt to reach the Human Project and resolve the crisis of infertility, the group faces death, betrayal, and instances of individuals passing all moral boundaries. By using a minimal amount of cuts throughout the film, the pair glorifies the intensity of the film and allows the viewers to connect on a personal basis. The use of Lubezki’s realistic camera style gives Cuaròn the ability to pull…
