In order for our group to examine six types of dye, we did not have enough time for yellow dye in the strip to develop. This factor limited our correct result for yellow strip.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the chromatography lab is a basic lab where you separate the food dyes using chromatography. Its very simple to achieve and helpful as you can determine the behaviors of different food dyes and how they differ. This can be useful as you can observe the colors to identify a solvent that will give maximum resolution of mixture of dyes. In our lab we used 2% Isopropyl Alcohol Solution to get the maximum resolution of mixture of dyes.
