This could be, because of how Handel wrote the piece. In the Hallelujah Chorus, we hear shifting textures in which the voices and text overlap and then come together to clearly declaim the text.114 Handel’s extraordinary ability to combine tuneful melodies and intriguing textures with striking homorhythmic passages is most evident in the beloved chorus.115 Until I heard this piece live, I never really understood how the writing style and words could be so impacting but this piece displays that. On the other hand, when I heard “Waltz of the Flower,” it was a very energetic piece. As soon as the piece started, it automatically brought Christmas to my mind. The uplifting and dynamic melody kept me intrigued with the performance the whole time. Even though both of these performances left lasting impressions, they did it in different ways; one with words and one with the style; this is just another one of the ways that the composers from the baroque era differed with the classical era.
