In Annabel, the word “Annabel” is repeated because it is the person Poe loves dearly; while, in Remember, the word “remember” is repeated to emphasize the nostalgia of memories. By writing, “Remember me when no more day by day...It will be late to counsel then or pray” (Rossetti), Rossetti is accosting her loved ones, in a benign and gingerly manner, to explain that they will only have memories of her after she passes.
