Chickku Abnormal Behavior

Decent Essays
I don't have a pet but my uncle does have a dog name Pichku. One weird thing that Pichku does is he touches the feet of all the people that comes in the house. We are not sure why he does that but it would be an abnormal behavior because it deviates from the general population of dogs. Which supports Oltmans and Emery(2014) p. 5 as they said that abnormal behavior can be defined as something that deviates from the anticipated behavior.

During my excursion to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, I quickly realized many of the emotional connections that humans and their canine pets share. Prior to visiting with the dogs, I made my way around the cat shelter area. After observing the cats, it became evident that their many of their “cute” behaviors were aimed solely at attracting the attention of potential human companions. For instance, a white cat named Sirocco made a distinctive pawing motion whenever I passed her cage, as if she was beckoning me to come closer and visit with her. Yet, after she had garnered my awareness, the snow colored tabby simply retreated back onto to her cardboard bed to continue her restful afternoon.…

Like all sidekicks. I’m just plain good company. I like attention, in fact I absolutely love to be petted, and even though I may not produce very loud purrs don’t think that I don’ appreciate you. I don’t really like when people pick me up and hold me, but if set down and put me on your lap and I move in every way direction so you can hit all my favorite spots. Though don’t get me wrong just like you, I also like my solitude where I can relax and take a nap or even just look out the window.…

One way that humans use animal behavior to tell someone something is territoriality. Territoriality is a behavior that is meant to signify that this person, place, or thing is “mine.” Humans use this to show people that this certain bag is mine or this is my boyfriend so “Back Off.” Animals use it in a few more unsophisticated ways than we do. Animals become territorial when another enters their space or approaches their mate and offspring.…

People choose to eat from organic farms that doesn’t aabuse the animals and they only use products that are labeled no animals were harm in this making to feel better about themselves. The media also like to use this method in a negative way to work in their favor like sending troops to another country and saying we need to go there before they attack us knowing the country does not have enough power to even attack the U.S, we choose to believe to keep a clean conscious. The two primates I chose to observe were chimpanzees and orangutans. I had no particular reason for choosing these particular primates except for the fact that they were easier for me to access.
