In the case of the Chick-n-Gravy Diner Line production defects, use of the provided check sheet quality tool is critical. Using that raw data, we can perform additional analysis that will aid in uncovering the underlying issues so that corrective actions can be taken. The first step in reviewing the data is to compile it into an Excel spreadsheet. From there, we can perform summaries against it and utilize pivot table and charts to better understand the nature of the defects. The included Excel file has two tabs, one for the raw data and one for pivot tables and charts.
The first breakdown I chose to look at was the number of defects by category for each line. This is the first pivot table and chart seen in the Excel file. Here I notice that

Take any necessary corrective action, then monitor for improvement in the number of defects. If successful in reducing the defects, implement a plan to regularly inspect and maintain the sealing machinery on both lines.
Next, I chose to look the defects over time for each line. This is my second pivot table and chart. Here I notice that there is a large spike at 10:30 for line 1 and another at 15:45 for line 2. I cannot draw any theories as to the cause of these spikes in defects, but this gives us a good starting point for further examination.
Recommendation 2: Review the scheduled activities around the times where number of defects increases. A wide variety of causes may be attributed to the increase in defects, but isolating activities occurring in these timeframes should help narrow the search. Once the cause is identified, take the necessary corrective actions.
Finally, I generated a third pivot table and chart to analyze the trend of defects by category for each day. I’m interested in seeing if our issues are progressively becoming worse over time. It would see that we are having an uptick over time in the number of defects. Left alone, this may progress to become worse. This highlights the sensitive timeframe in which we must

There are several reasons why I believe it would be beneficial for myself to accompany Florence on the home office visit. One reason would be to have a meeting with both Technology and Business partners. This will allow the teams to identify what is currently working along with listing out opportunities in today’s process. I think establishing open communication face to face will allow more of an open environment and possibly establishing solutions to these opportunities. I witnessed this process when Home Office Technology came to Roanoke, there was a list of issues and they were solved throughout the year.…

To obtain the data needed for the question, I first downloaded the dataset per instruction of the question. Specifically, I obtained the data of “rental commitments minimum – 5-year total” and “total liabilities,” assuming that these data reflect firms’ lease commitments and total liabilities. The dataset was then organized as follows: To throw out the “bad data,” I sorted out all the rows containing blank cells by the “filter” tool and removed all the duplicated rows by the “remove duplicates” tool. One assumption I had made here was this dataset represented all the firms in the market in 2014.…
