Avastin can be used to treat glioblastoma, and Afinitor can be used to treat benign tumors. Drugs approved for brain tumors: Afinitor (Everolimus), Afinitor Disperz, Avastin, Becenum, Bevacizumab, BiCNU, Carmubris, Carmustine, Carmustine Implant, Gliadel, Gliadel wafer, Lomustine, Methazolastone, Temodar, Temozolommide, and PCV. …show more content…
If the tumor comes back after they have been treated the doctor will usually recommend different forms of treatment as well as monitor the tumor closely. They will use other types of treatment to try to keep the size small and keep the symptoms to a minimum. Surgery is not commonly used a second time due to that not being conducive to the patient's health. There is no way to predict if the tumor will regrow after going into remission. This makes follow up checkups after being a part of cancer treatment very important. This allows the doctors to diagnose the returned tumor early and begin treatment
