Chasing Lincoln’s Killer, written by James L. Swanson, was published in New York in 2009. Chasing Lincoln’s Killer is non-fiction. Abraham Lincoln won the civil war and freed slaves all across the country. John Wilkes Booth wasn’t so happy about this, he made a plan to assassinate president Lincoln. Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, decided to go to a movie theatre to celebrate the victory of the war and just to have alone time. Booth figured it was a good time to assassinate Lincoln.
So on April 14, 1865 Booth attempted to kill president Lincoln. Booth ran away and the person investigating the attempt, Stanton, asks New York for their best detectives for help with the case.
On April 15, 1865 at 7:22 pm President Lincoln dies. Booth

According to an Unknown author from Kirkus Reviews, “An entertaining tale that neither adds to the vast bulk of Lincoln scholarship nor challenges the established theories of Booth 's plot and the subsequent trial of the conspirators” (Unknown 2011). One of the purposes of this book is to tell the story of an assassination and its aftermath; it is not about praising someone or insulting another. I would recommend this book to someone who is looking for an action adventure novel. I would not recommend this book to history buffs or other people looking into historical information about President…
