I watched the documentary “Chasing Ice” from 2012. This film follows a National Geographic photographer James Balog, who was always interested in the interaction between humans and nature. He explains how he thought it was “not probable” that humans could effect the earth’s climate and that he believed it was based on computer models. James eventually learns about the ancient ice cores and decides travel north to photograph the effects of global warming first hand. He visits areas such as Greenland, Alaska, and Iceland to photograph glaciers. The process was not easy as James had to battle several challenges, but he is eventually able to capture time-lapse photographs that show significant melting of large glaciers.
