A. The word theme has two meanings, a unifying idea. described as an explicit theme and the other called an implicit theme. The explicit theme as in the Charlotte’s Web give the reader in plain detail about the friendship between Wilbur and Charlotte when he understands that “friendship is one of the most satisfying things in the world.” Using words directly on the page of the book, identifying clearly the theme. The implicit theme allows the characters to deliver the message of the story a little at a time creating a discovery of information, as in Anastasia Krupnik. The reader learns about her in small amounts, discovering her growth over her 10th birthday year, leaving the reader impaled with emotions over the changes that take place.
B. Children’s books are used in many ways for instance Llama Llama Time to Share lets the reader know right from the title that this book displays an explicit theme about sharing which was the author’s primary reason for writing it. This book was written for the younger age group who are just beginning to learn this skill, therefore the readers are probably older, reading to younger children.

First the story needs to relate to the age group, representing a believable scenario, since there has been many changes over the years the topics for the older readers has also changed. The teenage, and young adult books are relating to premarital sex, alcoholism, abortion, pregnancy, and illness. The themes need to be dealt with sensitivity and cause the reader to care about the protagonist’s problem, while showing the truths about it and the conflicts that emanate from it. Reading at that time in my life always required a story of someone like me, my age at that time, including family situations and struggles that mirrored my
