Schulz became famous around the world. He also won a Peabody and Emmy awards, for Charlie Brown Christmas. “You're a good Man Charlie Brown” was on broadway in 1967 and ran for four years (Charles). His work was published in nineteen different languages. They produced many clothes, stationery, toys, games, and others. They even made a book called “Why? Charlie Brown, Why?”. “Why? Charlie Brown, Why?” became a tv show to help kids understand cancer, this was inspired by his mom which died from cancer (Charles). Charles then received the Yal Humor award in 1956, then the School Bell award. Later they made award named after him named the “Charles M, Schulz award” honoring his comic stripes and the people who made the award possible was by “United Feature Syndicate in 1980” (Charles). Charles first came up with the name Li’l Folks, but later on changed it to Peanut’s. Then in 1950 he started seeing them in seven newspapers were when you saw Charlie Brown, Sherry, Patty. and snoopy (Charles). In only one year the Peanut’s were in thirty five papers and in 1956 over one hundred. Snoopy was based on a famous German pilot during World War I. Schulz never tried to have any morals in his comics (Charles). Schulz, a very humorous person, add humor to his daily life. He was then released from the hospital on November 30 and found out that he had cancer (Michaelis 558). On December 14 he addressed a letter to all his three hundred million readers near and fair that he was going to retire in January (Michaelis 559). They made over three hundred Snoopy dolls. In 1990 they ran over two thousand newspapers. He was diagnosed with cancer November 1999 (Charles). He really had IV colon cancer only about two to one year to live. Within in a few days he could pronounce words right, but his eye side still was fuzzy (Michaelis 557). Although he was married twice, his first wife was Joyce Halverson in 1949 and divorced in 1972 then Jean Clyde in 1973. He also had five kids by his first marriage (Charles). A day after Christmas he had a clot in his leg and got sent back to the hospital. He was always scared of death, but was prepared for it (Michaelis 562). On December 1999, 2000 he planned to retire. The day after after the final comic strip he died on February 12, 2000 (Charles). In June 2000 people had plans the place a bronze sculptures of the eleven peanut on St.Paul Riverfront (Charles). The Peanut’s started out being just a thought in Charles live, but throughout his life Peanut’s became a big part of his live the Peanut’s began to reflect on his own life story. Charles M.
