When Beowulf hears of the evil demons that are attacking Herot, his sense of morality brings him to their aid. The dragon that ultimately kills him is clearly no match for him, but fear does not stop Beowulf from battling it and instead makes him more motivated to fight. Beowulf refuses to ever skip a battle that he could be in, whether it was Grendel, his mother, or the dragon. He offered to fight Grendel alone with only his hands so the Danes did not have to sacrifice more men to defeat the monster. In order to return his father’s honor to King Hrothgar for when he vouched for Edgetho when he attacked the Wulfing man, Beowulf comes to aid the Danes with Grendel. Refusing to let another person die when she could have done something about it, the driver put her own life before the girl, while Beowulf fought off the demons so the Danes would not have to. Upholding her duty to keep her students safe, the driver saved a student’s life as Beowulf honored the favor his father owed to King Hrothgar for what he did for
