Chapter 24
Joy, happiness, excitement, sadness, fear, confuses, worries, and all kinds of feelings come upon Jonas, for the first time he feel all those feelings all at once. Snowflakes falling down from the bright blue sky, the forest are covered with white thick snow. Jonas and Gabriel no longer feel cold, instead they feel cozy and comfortable. The feelings that Jonas is having now, the view he is seeing now, it is just somehow so familiar.
He remembered on his first day of training to be the new receiver, the Giver had given him the memories of snow sled and the coldness. As they get closer to the destination, Jonas begins to hear music from a room with windows that is exposed to sunlight. As he …show more content…
You know him? How? Were you from the community before? How did you find the way out here? Why did you choose to leave the community?”Suddenly Jonas have so many things that he want to know.
“My name is Finder, I am the Giver’s older brother. I use to live in the community, but just like you one day I realized the community isn’t the real world so I find the way to leave the community and never wanted to go back again. I have been waiting for someone like you that would want to see what the real world is really like,” said the old man.
Finder told everything that Jonas was wondering about. In the community all it has is happiness, and strict rules, it is like a utopia, no one can get hurt. All the feelings that they once feel are all unreal, those are nothing compare to the real life outside of the community. Yes, there are beautiful things such as colors that will never be seen in the community, there’s also a feeling called “love” that no one will understand. The community Jonas lived in is only a little part of the world, there’s a lot out there. There’s also a lot of cruel things in the real world, killing, family problems, bullying in schools, etc. These are the problem that Jonas’s community had never experienced before, and they won’t if they never come out of the
