The stage model of memory is a model that explains the three basic stages of memory which are sensory memory, short-term memory, and long- term memory. The individual has to understand and relate to the information given; the person can restate the information in his or her own words to fully understand it. Another effective way of encoding information is if the person generates his or her own example of the concept.
3. What are retrieval cues, and how do they work?
The recollection of information that is stored in memory is triggered by retrieval cues such as clues, prompts, and hints. Retrieval cues work when an individual looks at an object or word that helps him or her recall the information of a certain subject.
4. How can context and mood affect retrieval?
Context affects retrieval because the retrieval of information occurs in the same setting where the person originally learned the information, instead of the retrieval being remembered it is only remembered by the certain setting in which the person had learned the information. Mood affects retrieval because the individual can be in a current mood that triggers a memory due to the current mood that was consistent with a past
