1. An electron microscope would be better than a light microscope because an electron microscope allows you to view objects much smaller than you can with a light microscope. It might be better to use a light microscope if you are viewing a live specimen and do not want to kill it.
2. Prokaryotic cells are small, simple, no nucleus, no membrane-bound organelles, single loop of DNA (nucleosome), no cellulose, cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall (made of carbs), sometimes have cilia or flagella (movement). Eukaryotic Cells are larger cells, complex, with nucleus, membrane bound organelles, DNA tightly wrapped around histone proteins in chromosomes, cellulose in plant cell walls.
3. Chloroplasts are present in plant cells but not animals. They do photosynthesis and make energy. Also, cell walls, which provide structure to plant cells, are not present in animal cells. Finally, the central vacuole, which is a membranous sac in a mature plant cell with diverse roles in reproduction, growth, and development, is not present in animal cells.

Because eukaryotic cells are compartmentalized by many internal membranes, they are rigid and able to be reproduced and attached to each other to form large organisms.
5. Chloroplasts and mitochondria do essentially the same thing – provide energy for the cell. However, the way in which they do this is different. Chlorplasts use photosynthesis whereas mitochondria convert glucose into ATP. Also, mitochondria are only found in animals, and chloroplasts in

Lysosomes are small organelles that break down food particles and worn-out cell parts. Most of the cell’s energy is produced in the mitochondria. Cytoplasm is gel-like fluid which many of the organelles are found. Ribosomes function as factories to produce proteins which can either be attached to the endoplasmic reticulum or float in the cytoplasm. The golgi apparatus receives materials from the endoplasmic reticulum and send them to other parts of the cell…

Characteristics can classify organisms into 5 key groups called the 5 kingdoms: - Protoctista: These are mainly unicellular organisms that also have a nucleus. Some examples of protoctista are paramecium, amoeba and unicellular algae. -Prokaryotes: These are also unicellular organisms like protoctista but unlike them, they do not have a nucleus. An example of a Prokaryote is bacteria.…

A lot of things have one “personality”, in common. But some have more and some have less. For example, if the organisms from a plant cell was compared to a school, they would be alike because a school has students helping to school or the “base” and in a plant cell, all the different organisms act like those students. But don’t worry, a plant cell doesn’t just have to be compared to a school. It could be compared to a person, a project, another kind of cell, and basically anything else.…

Eukaryotic cells are cells whose nucleus is bound by a membrane; these cells contain organelles, which are structures each enclosed within its own membrane found only in eukaryotic cells, each organelle has a specific function inside a cell. One type of organelle is a lysosome, which are the organelles that dispose of waste and toxins. Lysosomes are fluid filled sacks which range in size from 0.1 to 1.2 micrometres and contain around fifty degradative enzymes that enable it to effectively dispose of unwanted substances inside of a cell; this includes excess and faulty organelles, food particles, viruses and bacteria (Micro.magnet.fsu.edu, 2016). These are contained inside of a plasma membrane which are made up of phospholipids and can fuse…

Millions of years ago, mitochondria were the single-celled, energy producing organelle. Mitochondria and chloroplast resemble bacteria. Each has their own protein synthesis that look like the bacteria and is found in the eukaryotes. They both reproduce like bacteria, and repair their own DNA. Now they generate energy for more compound cells, except still hold their own genomes.…

Introduction to Cell Biology – Unit 10193 – Chloe Barrett This essay discusses the difference in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, two types of specialised eukaryotic cell, and the relation of the structure of cell membranes to their function of moving substances in and out of cells. Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells are two very different, but also very similar cells. There are many differences between them that can help to associate between each one. Eukaryotes are any organism that consists of one or more cells that have DNA in a membrane-bound nucleus.(En.wikipedia.org, 2017) A eukaryotic cell is a large, more complex cell compared to a prokaryote.…

INTRODUCTION Cellular respiration is the breaking down of organic molecules by means of catabolic pathways that uses electron transport chain to produce ATP (Campbell 2011). ATP is used as energy in the synthesis of light or also known as Photosynthesis . ATP is used by photosynthetic organisms to produce their own food and also by performing cellular respiration. It needs mainly glucose and oxygen that involves the transfer of electrons in a chemical reaction.…

Eukaryotic cells come in a variation of forms. Some can be single-celled organisms that are generally bigger than prokaryotes. Human adults are made up of about 100 trillion cells of over 200 distinctive types. Internally, eukaryotic cells are considerably more complex than prokaryotic cells. The prokaryotes as well as the eukaryotic cells are enclosed in a spoongy cell membrane, but unlike prokaryotes, eukaryotes also have membranes within the cell that enclose tiny intracellular compartments where essential functions and processes can occur in isolation from the rest of the cell.…

The inner membrane is folded inside to form cristae, which are folded into the matrix. Mitochondria are the organelles of cellular respiration in nearly all cells. Chemical energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is produced by harvesting energy from sugars and other food molecules. Molecules of ATP are used by cells as a direct source of energy for most of their work. Mitochondria and chloroplasts have the ability to provide cellular energy and they contain their own DNA that encodes some of the own proteins.…

Prokaryotic cells are the simpler of the two cells and are single celled organisms, such as bacteria, that don’t contain organelles.…
