The same questions will be asked in the first session, and at the end of the fourth session, to determine if there is any growth on the part of the participants. The answers will be used as an assessment tool to have data, to determine the degree of knowledge these students have on self-concept and self-esteem due to this intervention. Some questions will be: “Why do you think some bullies are popular and have high status in schools?”, “what could be some consequences of being a victim of bullying?”, “predict the path a bully can take after being bullied”, “what strategies can you think of that will improve reduce bullying?”. The four group gatherings will be created to promote talking about subjects like violence, abuse, and bullying. Every participating student will provide his ideas and views on violence such as hurting others and fighting. This counselor will promote students to share what they know about verbal, physical, emotional, and sexual violence. According to Kerr, 2009, helping students to become aware of their actions will lead them to understand how bullying hurts peers. Henderson & Thompson, 2011, states that personal development leads to social commitment. Juan’s inability to express himself in English, and his inadequacy of his shyness, do not allow him to progress in making friends at school. This counselor will help Juan to decrease his feelings of inferiority, overcome his discouragement of not speaking enough English, and to recognize skills and resources that can be helpful to him. The technique of “What I know about myself” will be used to help Juan cope with his shyness to increase self-awareness and self esteem (Henderson & Thompson, 2011).
