Life is unpredictable. Imagine waking up and not be able to feel your arms or your legs. This paper will provide you a highlight of a case of a cervical spine injury patient. Building on this case-study, it will provide the pathology of the injury, the clinical manifestation, the normal progression of treatment, the precautions which need to be taken and detailed OT interventions to help the patient who sustained the injury.
A male patient in his early 20s had an accident while surfing during which he injured his neck. He lives with both his parents, a twin sister, and has a lot of friends. Paralyzed from neck down, he was sent to emergency room and treated as near drowned victim and was having breathing problems.
