Certified Nursing Assistants CNA, a profession that is widely misunderstood and undervalued. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are members in the healthcare that work under the direction of an RN, LPN or LVN. Certified nursing assistants provide hands on nursing care to patients in many healthcare settings. In addition CNA’s have many responsibilities and do more work than several other nurses. Without CNA’s many patients worldwide will not be taken care of and have assistance with eating, taking vital signs, bathing and etc. Having expressed, becoming a certified nursing assistant is crazy hard but at the end of the day it will be worth it. Some can be negative and positive in all types of groups. Every group is called a certain name no matter how young or old a person is. Stereotypes are a big problem in society and tend to put labels on people to act a certain way. An example of a stereotype would be “Women aren't as smart as men” however, this is not true due to the fact that women can be as smart as men or can be smarter. Stereotypes are also creating problems towards children that can affect them in many ways. The problem is that children are confused because they think that they should act a certain way when they can really be themselves. All stereotypes are not negative regardless of the various types of groups. A misconception is a statement that is incorrect about a person. Misconceptions are often made by personal experience. An example of a misconception would be “All gay men paint their nails.” Stereotypes lead to misconceptions about how people live their life which could cause big problems in our multicultural society. Some stereotypes can make people feel lonely and depressed. Instead of judging others by the way that someone looks, people should get to know that person. Some of my friends like the job and some do not due to all of the work that is given. My mom also works as a CNA and she comes home exhausted when she gets out of work. Don't get the wrong idea, being a certified nursing assistant is a good job, but at the same time it can be difficult. Even though it may be difficult, one can learn how to properly care for a patient and take care of an injury and illness. According to an online article,Certified Nursing Assistant- A Closer Look by Dave Cahill emphasizes that stereotypes can sometimes be beneficial when he States, “ If you are considering a job in health care, especially in nursing, The CNA could be just what you need.” There are several job openings for the people that want to become certified nursing assistants. Even if it is not a high paying job, it can be a good way to start off in the medical field. People make it seem like becoming a CNA is a horrible job to have but in reality it helps someone that wants to start in the medical field if this is what they want to do for the rest of their
