I would also want to know first what testing was done and what the results were even before I receive a chance to explain to the mom the situation. I would want to know if the mom understands the results of the testing or if they are confused in any way. After all of that I would want focus on the ethical implications of explaining the report to the mom. I would first want to call up the previous testing area to determine if the client would allow us to release the information to their mom. If the client did release the results to their mother (since they are a minor) it wouldn’t ethical issue to speak with the mom and explain to her what were the results and why. However the ethical implications of confidentially would come up if the client chose not to release the information to the mother and I would not be allowed to talk about the results with her till I can receive the approval from the client. For my efforts to make sure that this assessment process is done correctly I would want to gather all of the information of how, why, whom and the process of the testing to determine if the testing was done to the overall standards of the ACA and the CRCC code of ethics.
