What are age spots and who can get them?

Age spots, also known as "liver spots," are identically colored, but randomly occurring dark spots, typically more common as you age. Age spots are caused by prolonged sun exposure, which is why they are more prevalent the older you get. They appear in areas more exposed to sun, such as your face and arms. They are usually more common in people with fair skin, but anyone can get them.
