According to Angelsen in 1995, deforestation meanings destruction or loss of vegetation, from losing completely or permanently to changing gradually in the economical component (Angelsen 1995). In fact, in the world, there are roughly 300 km hectares of forests being cut down and approximately 13 million hectares disappearing annually (International Union for the Conservation of Nature 2012), on average, every two seconds having a forest which is worth a football field destroyed. Causes
Deforestation has several reasons, but there are three main causes, including over mining, making fields to crop and producing papers and wood products. All of them lead to serious effects for forests, even destroy them completely.
First, over mining is the big one of three factors leading to rainforest destroyed everyday. What is mine? “Mine is an action digging holes in the ground to find and obtain coal, diamonds, etc” (Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary 2016). Actually, Brayan Peter said that this is an industry making money. Minerals and metals are absolutely useful for both companies and governments.Employees also get income and benefits in this (B. Peter, 2016). However, mining is an environmentally destructive activity, especially for rainforest. It cannot be denied that rainforests are naturally rich in important and valuable metals such as cooper, tin, gold, silver, diamonds and others (C. Lefevre, 2014). In order to mine, all trees and vegetation in the forests must be cut down or burned. (Perterson and Heemskerk, 2001). This makes all animals in there lose their home and die, even be extinct. Therefore, miners and mining operations are a probably big threat to the tropical rainforest ecosystems (R. Butler, 2012). In the world, mining exists in most places, especially in Guyana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia and ASEAN countries, or in the US In South America, Amazonia region, Guyana, Suriname, and other South American countries. These places

It is an international problem and it also a concern of most customers when they buy wood products (Newswire 2012). This is responsibility of both the government and citizens in preventing and banning illegal logging by stopping the supply and demand for illegal timber (European Forest Institute 2014). It cannot denied that this is absolutely difficult and dangerous mission so we need to have long-term and careful strategies. Canada is one of countries leading this campaign with five ways preventing illegal logging such as enacting forests laws, fining illegal wood imports and exports, etc (Natural Resources Canada 2012). Therefore, stopping unlawful activities also contributes restore forest resources

Since 1978, nearly 289,000 square miles have been destroyed across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana (Amazon, Butler, 1). The main reason for the destruction of the rainforest is so farmers can expand their land to produce more crops and the large logging companies come in and take the timber make products out of it. It has also been known that illegal loggers have come in and contributed to the destruction of the rainforest. The World Wildlife Foundation’s website (wwf.org) reported that a study by a Brazilian Commission showed that about 80% of all logging done in the 1990s was illegal (Logging, Viana G. 2). Another shocking statistic that is related to the sloth and the loss of their homes comes from.…

Though Brazil is known quite well for its stringent deforestation laws, there is very little existent enforcement of these laws. Many agencies are underfunded and understaffed, and some are even involved in timber laundering, where trees are illegally harvested and given clean documentation to facilitate their sale. The new found protection of forests by indigenous tribes had been met with controversial reactions. One indigenous group, the Guardians, “have tied up loggers, torched their trucks and tractors, and kicked them off the reserves” (Phillips). This, of course, has led to the decreased logging in the area, but some people are fearful of the radical methods in the already dangerous area.…

While native species thrive here, tourists wish for a cold shower to cleanse of the sweat from sweltering in the rainforest all day.
