Anxiety before the visit, trying to picture what the visit’s going to be like and just getting to see their parents, but then afterward they are left wondering why they didn’t get to go home with them. Why are they leaving them again? That’s when they start feeling unwanted and unloved which causes some children to lash out at the care givers. I have some friends who just got their son back after a year and a half of being in the foster care system and I see a lot of the mental disturbances listed above in that child. He is fourteen and has anger issues, thinking his parents are supposed to make it up to him and he lashes out at them a lot. He has a hard time socially for fear of being rejected. Don’t get me wrong he is a good kid, but had to grow up a little too soon I think. A lot of parents think that once their child is back in the home, they can go back to the way things were before the child was taken in the first place. This also affects the child cause they still aren’t getting what they need to be successful. They need a stable structure to feel secure in
