Catholic Faith Has Affected My Life

Decent Essays
There has not been just one priest or sister in my life that has affected me more than another, but many have impacted my life over the years. Since I started school at St. Dominic High School last year, I feel I now have a better understanding of the catholic faith and its real meaning. Before, I went to a mass at St. Dominic, I never fully understood everything in mass or what it meant. I would always just go through the motions and not really understand what I was doing. I have learned through the masses at school what I am doing during church and this has helped me even outside of school. Now, I can follow along on Sundays during mass and I am no longer confused about what is happening. Since I have had the opportunity to attend church

The majority of the students who had shown up where only there because their parents had forced them to go and not so much because they were aspiring to become better Catholics. It was an absolutely different environment to me, dealing with people who were so ignorant and clueless about my faith. When half the year was finally over, I noticed a difference in myself; I was happier and very relaxed. I first noticed when we had our first retreat. I was the type of person that didn’t like to participate, or even raise my hand to answer (despite knowing 100% I was right), let alone scream or sing; I was very shy and quiet.…
