Categorical Imperative

The traffic is horrifying in Chicago, so it makes sense for some people to have a little road rage or in Milskys case a little too much road rage. People swearing, cursing at each other out the windows of their cars on the road at 9 in the morning. Even though no one’s at fault because no one can control traffic. The better option is to leave the house earlier, but these people along with Milsky choose not to. What people don’t realize in that moment is the feelings of others. They don’t acknowledge each other’s existence, which is why it violates the second formulation of Categorical Imperative. To “Act so that you treat others as an end and never as a means only “(Kant). Road rage on the road does violates Kants second formulation of Categorical Imperative. Because people are treating each other’s as tools in this moment. That the only way you can get to point B, is by swearing out people, so they can see your frustration. And then they act based of your frustration. You’re not treating based them based on for who they’re. You just want to look at your needs and make sure there met. They didn’t know there would be huge amounts of traffic as soon as they got on the road. And it’s out of their hands, they can’t control how every other person drives on the road. They could’ve left the house earlier, office, or whatever, but things happen. Nothing ever happens on time. Not one person in this world, has always been on time for everything.
