Castor: 6 Stars

Decent Essays
Since Castor is in it’s red giant stage and is actually 6 stars combined, currently it would become either a black hole or neutron star. This is currently undecided as it is hard to tell in this current stage, Castor is a mass made up of 6 stars, which makes it even harder to decide what will happen after the first supernova, assuming there will be 6 of them. As each star goes through it’s supernova they can become a black hole, if even the first star going through it’s supernova turns into a black hole the gravity from it would pull all the matter around it into it, causing Castor to completely

Christopher Tran EAS 1601: Writing Assignment 1 13 October 2015 Why Giant-Planet Cores do not Spiral Towards their Parent Stars http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v520/n7545/full/520040a.html Why are gas giant planets of exoplanetary systems at a distance of at least one astronomical unit from their host stars? As we learned in class, the gas giants form by accreting and colliding with smaller solid bodies from the disk. According to Duncan, this process of accretion can occur relatively fast for gas giants and reach critical mass that is “about 10 Earth masses”, and begins to accrete surrounding gases. The problem with this accretion process is that the growing planetismal creates a “gravitational wake” in the disk so that it will result…

During the interactive oral I feel my understanding of the cultural and contextual elements of the work helped me develop a better understanding of why the murder of Santiago Nasar occurred. The discussion talked over: why the brothers murdering Santiago was socially acceptable in this rural area, as well as how certain characteristics or actions were normals of their society. An example being machismo being a huge aspect of Colombia’s culture. Jina Malone and I connected together how the brothers were following what was culturally acceptable and doing the murder in a sort of honor killing. After reviewing my own research and listening to my peers; I learned that this honor killings were a morally acceptable thing.…

When giant stars die in supernovas and their cores collapse with the protons and electrons essentially melting into each other to form neutrons, neutron stars would be created. Pulsars are types of neutron stars and the relics of massive stars. They are extremely magnetized and rotating at enormous spends. All pulsars are not neutron stars, because most of neutron stars have slowed down to not give off much rotational energy when neutron stars get old. Also, many pulsars are not spinning in a plane where we can spot…

Introduction Our Sun produces enough energy in one second to sustain life on earth for millions of years. However, there is an energy far more powerful than our Sun that makes it pale in comparison. Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs) are the most energetic type of light in the universe and produce more energy in one second than the sun will produce in its ten-billion year lifetime. These dramatically powerful energetic explosions often originate billions of light-years from Earth yet produce a light so bright that it can be seen through binoculars, making them unequivocally the most powerful burst of energy that we have observed in our universe (Bennett, Donahue, Schneider, & Voit, 2014).…
