Introduction
This paper presents analysis on the development of two family members presented in the case scenario of Sanchez. The family members being assessed in this case are from Celia Sanchez. Celia Sanchez has been married to Hector for a period of more than forty years now. Celia has been in the country for a period close to twenty years. By the age of 14, Emilia had become addicted to drugs, most probably as a result of peer influence among her friends who were addicted to drugs. While her mother perceive this as a bad behavior which is not accepted in the society, Emilia viewed this as the right thing she had to do. Her point of view was that it was not wrong to abuse drugs; this was contrary to the view of the mother and the father. Worst of all, Emilia became pregnant and gave birth to a child named Joey. With the aspects of brain development and after realizing that drug abuse was not accepted in the society, Emilia had a strong desire to stop the drug abuse. As outlined in the theory of cognitive development, children tend to have innocent viewpoints of situations and behaviors (Bjorklund & Causey, 2017). Such viewpoint changes with time, especially when they are teenagers. This is the stage in life when people are likely to develop bad behaviors such as drug abuse like in the case of Emilia. However, such kind of point of views always changes as the individual cognitive psychology continues to expand (Bjorklund & Causey, 2017). For the case of Emilia, she is subjected to help the mother in doing home duties instead of being taken to school. Her rights for education are denied. She ends up being in a bad company, get herself abusing drugs and experiencing early pregnancy. Her social right of being loved and taken care by her parents is deprived when she is chased away for having done abortion (McMurtrie, et al., 2012). One of the biggest challenges that Emilia is facing is how to reestablish her relationship with the family and secondly, how to secure some training that would allow her to get some jobs for supporting her only child Joey and
