I went to a community college where they didn’t have sorority or fraternities on the campus. When I first saw the name Zeta Phi Beta sorority on campus. I was interested to learning more on my own. I did a little bit of research on the organization and I love everything about the finer woman. They are the first ones to establish chapters in Africa, the first ones to have a national headquarter. Zeta Phi Beta sorority is all about business, community service and scholarship. I am personally a very hard worker young woman who does anything to chase my goals in life. I will be the second person on my mother side of the family who will receive my degree. I’m also the oldest of the younger generation who first went away to go to a university. I have four youngest cousin who also attend a college/university. For me getting accepted to attend a university as Hampton University was a blessing to me. I am a role model to my youngest cousins, nephew and niece to show them you can do whatever you want to do to achieve your goals. I don’t have no family members who are a member of a sorority or …show more content…
I always helped the homeless people where I help gather and boxing food for the homeless. I give back to the community where I donate clothes for children’s and adults. I can help out with business fundraisers or financial transactions. I know I am going to start a family business because family is most important thing to me. Without them I would not be the person I am today. I am skilled with making decisions in the best interest of an organization instead of the interest of individual needs. I have and continue to manage money well and know how to get the job done within reasonable costs. I want to service the sisterhood by being supportive and eventually leading chapter fundraisers, and community service projects. I know how organize and brainstorm with some great ideas to improve the process of doing things. Some things I would love to gain and accomplish as a member of Zeta Phi Beta Incorporated is leadership skills by attending seminars, holding officer and committee positions within the chapter and serving as role models for the Sorority youth affiliates. Personal development where I have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities where I can use my talents and knowledge to contribute to the

I admired and still admire the demeanor that a Delta woman presents to the world. In my opinion, a Delta woman exemplifies courage, gratitude, and Intelligence.…

“It’s not what it looks like”, this is what the majority of members of a sorority or fraternity would respond after being asked about Greek life. Why is that they feel like they have to say that? One word: Marketing. The way sororities and fraternities are portrayed to the public gives off a bad image and reputation about the members and their community. Any person who has not been part of Greek life and does not have any information about this community and its activities they would think sororities and fraternities are just a big house full of college people just having fun, drinking, and sleeping around.…

Greeks all speak a language or a lexis that they learn in the process of becoming part of their fraternity/sorority. We sometimes say things that only other Greeks will understand. In addition to the lexis that is shared, they also have different levels of seniority and the Phi, and epsilon) sigma being the beginner and epsilon being the highest seniority. I think this group values the sisterhood/ brother hood bonds that they get out of it. We as greeks love the feeling of meeting new people and being able to connect with them as close as they would with a sibling.…

or any sorority for that matter, except for what I hear on my college campus, which are basically stigmas (good and bad) that are tied to each sorority. After months and months of my ears being flooded with “Zeta this, Gamma Rho that, AKA this, and Delta that,” and my friends telling me that I should pledge Delta because I’m very blunt and have an attitude, I literally thought the whole sorority (sisterhood) and fraternity (brotherhood) thing was stupid and childish. I told myself that I would never be apart of any sisterhood and I would be my own support, and my own organization. However, after continued pestering from my friends about how I should become a Delta because of my fitted Delta personality, I decided to do some research. The one thing that sold me on wanting to become a…
